The Tele-Router is a routing device designed for use in pharmacies, which can route up to four phone lines. It receives signals from interactive voice response systems and can connect these systems to phone lines which the pharmacists can answer. Callers are automatically connected to the store's interactive computer system. If the caller indicates to the system that they wish to speak with a pharmacist, the system sends a signal to the Tele-Router, which can play rings, busy signals, and other auditory messages to the caller while it rings the pharmacy's phone. Once a pharmacist answers, the device will keep this line open until a user ends the call.
The Tele-Router delivers approximately 75V RMS at 17 cycles per second and runs continuously from the time it is installed. It comes preset with all the auditory signals needed to inform a caller what is happening when a call is being routed.
